International Quilt Festival
July 25 - 27, 2008 • Long Beach CA

We attended the International Quilt Festival at Long Beach, California, from July 24 through 27, 2008, as guest pattern designers in The Fabric Patch Quilt Shop's booth.  Mary Echlin invited us to join their booth to promote our patterns.   A reported 11,000 people attended the festival on Friday and Saturday, with Sunday traffic much lighter.  Organized by Karey Bresenhan, founder and director of the Houston International Quilt Market and Festival, this was a first for the West Coast.  Crowds apparently were larger than anticipated because they ran out of food on Friday!  It was a long 10-hour day with a power bar and little else.  That situation was remedied the next day.  Lack of food, however, didn't seem to slow things down.

Our booth was large and filled with kits, notions, patterns and sample quilts as seen in the photo album on this page.  Marti Michell was a guest at the other end of The Fabric Patch's booth promoting her quilting templates.  The Fabric Patch Gals were great to work with and after talking to them on the phone for a long time, it was nice to meet them face-to-face.

Cheri's new camera is responsible for our Long Beach photo album. . .
